who are you?
we're a couple of friends that are hugely passionate about great food, have a strong creative drive, and want to help make a positive change in the world. you can learn more about us on our instagram, give us a follow!
where are you?
you can find us at 150-1507 Powell Street, Vancouver, BC V5L 5C3 - we're part of Coho Commissary, (located behind Andina Brewery)!
why can't I dine-in?
well, we're a satellite kitchen...
so...what's a satellite kitchen?
basically, it's a licensed establishment that prepares/produces meals for service elsewhere. in our case, we roll sushi for you to pickup and enjoy wherever you like.
why a satellite kitchen?
honestly, it keeps overheads much lower than running a traditional brick + mortar setup. don't get us wrong, we love dining in, but for now we're operating in a way that lets us bring our creations to you much sooner than would otherwise be possible.
why are your hours so limited?
believe us, we wish they weren't! however, we currently have other jobs and this is very much a passion project. as things pick up, we hope to expand our hours in the near future. you can help us by spreading the word!
is everything plant-based?
absofruitly! everything we offer is 100% plant-based, gluten-free + sugar-free. if there are any allergens present, we'll make it abundantly clear.
do you plan on adding more items to your menu?
most definitely! we're working on lots of new stuff, we just thought we'd get the ball rolling with our proudest creations.
i don't like wasteful packaging...
us either! we've worked really hard to source packaging that is biodegradable and/or recyclable. plus, our containers are plant-based, too.
how should i dispose of your packaging?
it's true, plant-based packaging is ideally composted in a commercial facility and returns to soil in around 180 days. however, if you don't live near a commercial facility, they will still breakdown in a 'backyard compost', it'll just take longer! that being said, all our packaging is washable, and reusable. so we encourage everyone to reuse, then recycle. and though our little fish are recyclable too, we hope you can hold onto the little suckers (as they're pipettes) and use them for any sauce/liquid you choose - they're great for lunch boxes!
do you use any allergens?
we do - we mark all our items that contain allergens clearly.
do you offer any garlic + onion free options?
yes! item descriptions clearly indicate when this is the case.
why do you have the ocean wise logo on your website?
we are the first plant-based sushi restaurant to be endorsed by Ocean Wise! our nori is farmed in the Ariake Sea, Japan, and is certified sustainable by Ocean Wise. furthermore, as we use no animal products, all our options are deemed sustainable options that positively impact our oceans. for example, unagi is not a sustainable choice, however our version - made with eggplant - most certainly is!
are you hiring?
we're flattered you'd ask! we will be soon, but if you feel a strong volition before we advertise, contact us and we'll talk!
